This is a blog for one of my classes for my master's program. Since I don't have a classroom of my own, I am going to be blogging about my experiences in my American Literature class.

Next Week
Next week will be a short week. There is no assignment for Monday. I hope we will be reviewing the exam. There is no class on Wednesday because it is Senior Assessment Day. We should get our assignment for Friday in class on Monday.
Exam
The class had an exam yesterday. I think I did very well. We will have to see how she grades the essay, but I am pretty sure I answered all the short answer material correctly.

Reminder for next week
Dr. Brown was gone this Wednesday and Friday, but she did leave us an assignment. We are to choose one of the stories we read by Twain or Harte and explain in detail how it reflects Realism. She said it should be only 250-325 words so it shouldn't be too difficult. We also have to read " The White Swan" for Monday. Pop quiz is coming for sure, so be prepared.
By the way, I have to say that The White Swan really didn't do anything for me. I could identify with Harte's writing because I met people that he wrote about when I was growing up and I really liked Roughing It! by Twain, but I could not identify with the characters in this story. I am sure Dr. Brown will enlighten me.

Introduction
This is a blog for one of my classes for my master's program. Since I don't have a classroom of my own, I am going to be blogging about my experiences in my American Literature class. For those who don't know me, I am a retired USAF officer who has decided to embark on a new career of trying to share my knowledge and experience with the youth of this area (i.e. becoming a teacher). Get set for a ride.
